“ Teuk Phneak Chao Srok Min Chenh Somleng,” “Cry in Silence” Officially Released this Friday

Phnom Penh: Finally, the song "Teuk Phneak Chao Srok Min Chenh Somleng" or in English,“Cry in Silence” which was written by Mr. Chan Samith of Stung Trang Province and sung by Ms. Meas Leakena, following the rhythm of Chros  Oyadao. The song was recorded by Khmer family Song Band (KFS), officially released this Friday afternoon. The PM has announced it.

A well-known singer and founder of the Khmer Family Song TV Show, Ouk Narim has told EAC News that in addition to the above song, there are also three more songs produced by KFS production in related to the announcement of the prime minister and three other composers who worked on the theme " crying in silence" or " tears but no cry." All of the composers were inspired by the compassion and love of the Prime Minister Hun Sen grandchildren to him, who has sacrificed everything for the nation, for the well-being of the people, regardless of his hardships, sacrifices, fatigue and compromised personal health.

Just this morning, the prime minister has posted some photos of him and his 21st granddaughter, who was upset and about to shed tears without really crying and that is when the announcement came in to the PM’s FB page, and what also inspired the composer.

The hardworking prime minister, who is also a devoted grandfather, has recalled that on Thursday, after he returned home from his duties as the premier, he took his grandchildren for a walk, he was awed why his 21st granddaughter was agitated and sobbing in silence. He is used to see his grandchild weepy at times or tears are about to fall but can control herself not to cry. But at that time, when he saw his granddaughter weepy, it touched him deeply. He thought of the song and he was curious if Cambodia has already made a song with the title “ Tears But Do Not Cry,” or something about crying in silence. And so the announcement has come down on his FB page.

Only about an hour later, Mr. Chan Samith, has sent a lyrics and titled it, "Cry in Silence.” And more composers submitted their own lyrics as well, In a very positive response, PM Hun Sen has praised all the compositions and has said that he would send them all to Samneang Krousar Khmer Band to try it out. "Cry in Silence," has different versions from different composers.

The Prime Minister Hun Sen, so far has a total of 22 grandchildren, including 12 grandsons and 10 granddaughters. The PM often expressed his great love and devotion to all his grandchildren. He has posted how much he loves them in his FB page and caption it with this : "Love a child a hundredth time, love a grandchild a millionth time.”
